h gosh, the night was perfect. It was the most relaxed I had been since my kidnapping and Dad’s death. Clinging to Grimm’s arm, I glanced sideways at him and smiled like a besotted fool while we walked along the main street.

I had so much love for this man. Anyone with half a brain could have figured out that Grimm had gone out of his comfort zone tonight. I knew he wasn’t used to going out on dates. He was a man who had hit plenty of ass then moved on. Dates like these and the things he did for me no longer made me worry about his appetite for fucking different guys.

Those days were behind us.

Warmth spread through my abdomen. He’d said he loved me. Of course I knew it, and it never bothered me before that he never said the words, but when they sort of tumbled out during dinner it had been the perfect time. Not a moment sooner.

“Are your feet okay?” Grimm asked, peering down at my feet in the strappy heels as we walked. “Those shoes are sexy as fuck, but they can’t be comfortable.”

“Who cares about comfort when shoes like these make my legs look even better?”

Grimm shook his head at me, but a smile lingered on his lips. “Your legs look good whenever.” He leaned sideways and whispered in my ear. “Especially when they are locked around my waist or resting on my shoulders.”

I groaned, goosebumps scattering over my skin at his words. I couldn’t lie that I didn’t like when he fucked me too. Yeah, I still preferred topping, but when he was balls deep inside me, in that moment I wouldn’t have it any other way when he was bucking inside me like he wanted to crawl into me and stay there forever.

Intense. The way I liked it, although there were moments he also treated me like glass.

Grimm stopped suddenly, pulling me out of my thoughts.

“Stay here a minute,” he said, releasing my hand. “I won’t be long.”

“What? Grimm, where are you going?”

He pointed at the shop to our left. A flower shop. “Just stay there. I won’t be long.”

He disappeared inside the flower shop, and I placed my arms behind my back, waiting for him. It was so sweet he wanted to buy me flowers. At least he’d better return with flowers.

“Hey, baby, looking good!”

At the wolf whistle, I turned to face the man who approached me from behind. His face fell when he noticed me.

“What the fuck, weirdo!” he spat at me. “Why you dressing like a woman?”

“I wear whatever I want to,” I replied when I should have really ignored his trifling ass wanting to justify the fact that he’d found me attractive enough from behind.

“You’re a fucking freak show!” he shouted at me, grabbing the hem of my dress and pulling. I gasped at the ripping sound that followed his action.

I closed my fist and blasted him in the face. “Don’t put your hands on me,” I snapped.
